CEA’S PILOT PROGRAM TOOK PLACE IN OCTOBER 2015 AT LOS ANGELES' LATTC WORKSOURCE.
The first Career Excellence Academy program was a six week program, held twice a week, and divided into two-hour sessions. CEA had the opportunity to partner with a number of institutions and companies to execute the pilot program. Each class was held at LATTC in the heart of Los Angeles, making the venue easily accessible to the program’s participants.
The Academy hosted subject matter experts from companies such as AECOM, Skanska, Walsh/Shea, CDM Smith, JLM Staffing Solutions, and the City of Los Angeles. The experts facilitated seminars on a variety of topics such as introduction to the industry, occupational safety and health, labor compliance, document control, project controls, and soft skills. The program was interactive, dynamic, and brought hands-on expertise of industry professionals. The effectiveness of the program’s design was reflected in the feedback and testimonies gathered from the Academy’s first “graduates.”
